Why Soloflight?
Soloflight has been established at Humberside Airport since 1977 and has an outstanding reputation. It is a Corporate Member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilot’s Association (AOPA), which is the organisation which sets the syllabus for the Private Pilot Licence & associated Ratings.
Soloflight is the only Club to offer all training for Pilot courses and ratings on four-seat aircraft at a very similar cost to two-seat aircraft, with the most experienced Instructors. Aircraft are always clean and tidy - not always common!
All Soloflight Members have online access to our own bespoke Flight School Management system which allows them to view aircraft and instructor availability and book their flights. The computer system also tracks Members flight records, accounts and currency of Licences, Medicals and experience ensuring that you need not worry about becoming out of date. It also monitors aircraft maintenance and technical issues, along with Instructors availability.
- Soloflight Members can also have their own email address which can be accessed online or diverted to their own server. eg Edward.H@soloflight.co.uk
Some comments from a
few of our past and present students :
“…your
standards of training which were most professional and of the highest standard
… we will pass on our comments to the RAF at Cranwell … many thanks” - from David Ahern and Lady
Pigot(Berkshire), whose son Lee received the Sir John Thomson Memorial Sword from the Royal Air
Force for being their best cadet in 1996 - Soloflight completed Lee’s PPL after his 15 hour RAF Scholarship. Photo in the extras gallery
“… A truly excellent course and I do feel as though my
competency has improved dramatically (not overconfidence I promise you) …” – John Wortley-Hunt (Toulouse, France)
FAA Instrument Rating.
“… I have been looking for a flying Club here in Kilkenny and I am beginning to realise how lucky I am to have come across Soloflight …” - William Smee. (Kilkenny, Ireland) Private Pilot Licence - now a Commercial Pilot flying professionally..
“… I arrived at Soloflight after budget lessons elsewhere, with little confidence, self-belief and doubting whether I could make the grade. After only a few lessons with Chief Flying Instructor, Glen Stewart, I was flying solo and landing at other airfields. All the instructors have an enthusiastic, professional and friendly approach … I was aware that I was on a structured training program with each step building up on the last culminating in my Private Pilot Licence … If you are considering flying training, I encourage you to seriously consider Soloflight and their “no-nonsense” approach … Learn from my experience, a cheaper hourly rate is false economy when you take twice as long to learn and suffer the accompanying loss of confidence …” – Geoff Doran (Lincoln - telephone number available on request) Private Pilot Licence
